In Mad Pursuit...

Of that elusive thing called a J-O-B! My career as a student is rapidly dwindling come May and I again have that warm, familiar feeling...somewhat akin to...freaking out. I remember graduating three years ago and having that same feeling of anxiety and dread of not being able to find a job. It's almost sad how much we allow that "thing" that we show up for everyday defines so much of who we are, but it does. But, I'm trying to keep my chin up and my eyes to the sky and trust that something great is coming along!

On the lighter side, Spring is here! I can't wait to pull out those cute little sun dresses and flip flops! It's been eventful so-far...I had my first experience riding in a parade (The St. Patty's Day Parade) which was super fun, although I spent most of my time trying not to hit innocent by-standards in the face with beads. (Those things really hurt!) The weather was gorgeous and it was a perfect way to experience the charm of this little place we call "South Louisiana". Which I'm really starting to begin to love :)

And Alice fell into the Rabbit Hole....

Well here I am, jumping on the band wagon we all know as "blogging". Of course I am experiencing all of the reservations that everyone else probably does before joining this whole hoop-la... for example, my life isn't overly interesting, but it tends to amuse me more often than not. Also there's that whole fear of opening up a part of yourself for anyone to see.....
So to rationalize this whole crazy feat, I came up with a list of objectives; aaaaand here they are:

1) To keep friends, family, or any interested parties up to date and involved in the deepest, darkest, most inner thoughts of my mind ( yeah right, anyone who knows me knows I'm not deep and dark).

2) To say that I, Katie Brooke Yancey, from Rayville, Louisiana, daughter of Maggie and Langston Yancey and currently residing in 'Red Stick' blogged at some point in my life.

3) Finally, as a marketing person, I've decided that if I can't market myself, I'm in pretty deep you-know-what.

Thats all the bloggers stamina I have for now....Until next time!
